Barbara Dixon Deeper knowing

As I went through the book, The Power of Decision, yet again, I was startled at how much more there is to learn. It is so easy to get comfortable in what we think we know, but there is always a deeper knowing. Consciousness is so cool. I guess omniscient really means all knowing and into infinity. It makes me sizzle with awe and wonder when I experience a deeper truth. Every time I think I’ve got it, Bam! A deeper knowing surfaces. I used to wish, "It Is Over," would be written in the sky and… Continue

Mindy Audlin Parent 2 Parent - A Lesson in Love

My weekend was destined for LOVE. I was in Austin to officiate in the wedding of a close friend, and LOVE was on my mind. What does it really mean to love someone? What do we really get out of making lifelong commitments to each other? The answer awaited me in the lobby of my hotel. It was the annual conference for the Texas Parent2Parent network, an organization that provided support and resources for parents of children with disabilities. It was like walking into a different world. Out mingl… Continue

Mindy Audlin Making His Wish Come True - Happy Father’s Day, Dad!

It was my first semester of college, and my first time away from home. Christmas was just around the corner, but my budget allowed for little more than Ramen noodles and pizza. So I wrote my Dad a poem as his gift, and framed it on green poster board with red ribbons along with pictures of us together that I dug out of a shoebox in my mother’s attic. It has been tacked up next to the mirror on his bathroom wall since 1988. Every Father’s Day, he asks me to submit it to the local newspaper. He l… Continue

Mindy Audlin Reach for the Future!

It's been a whirlwind week... I returned from California with barely enough time to prepare for my next round of travels. First on the agenda was an annual tradition for me: Guest speaker for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards just south of Dallas, Texas. It was Day 4 of their conference, and the participants had all been up past midnight... many of them hanging out and talking until 2 am. I arrive bright-eyed on Wednesday morning, ready to talk to them about community and being of service. I… Continue

Mindy Audlin I've got one hand in my pocket, and the other one is saying thank you to Alanis Morisette…

Thursday night, I had the honor of attending the inaugural gathering of The Global Alliance for Transformational Entertainment (GATE) at the FOX studios in Los Angeles. I flew in from San Francisco specifically for the event. As I arrived at LAX, standing in the taxi queue, I secretly fantasized that I would bump into an enlightened celebrity also on their way to the event. I fantasized that I would say hello, ask them if they were going to GATE, too, and they would offer me a ride to the venue… Continue

Mindy Audlin The purpose of friendship

As I was jogging through my neighborhood this morning, I inched upon two women walking together. “Did you hear about so-and-so?” one asked. Then I heard the gory details of this anonymous person’s latest physical travesty. I sped up to avoid getting queasy. The focus this week for The What If Up Club is “friendship,” and my encounter this morning has me asking myself, “What is the purpose of friendship? Surely there’s something beyond gossip and commiseration, right?” In a study done in conjun… Continue

Mindy Audlin Thank you, Veterans! We remember you!

TAPS Fading light, dims the sight. And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright. From afar, drawing near, falls the night. Day is done, gone the sun, From the lake, from the hills, from the sky. All is well, safely rest; God is near. Then goodnight, peaceful night; Till the light of the dawn shineth bright. God is near, do not fear. Friend, goodnight. Continue

Tammy L-C What if all women everywhere had this kind of birth experience?

I received this mailing from a past HypnoBirthing Mom. It's far too good to keep it to myself! Hi Tammy, I just wanted to say thanks for the hypnobirthing course (3 months later lol, sorry). We have a beautiful healthy baby boy - John. I had a really awesome birth experience. Although I had a 22 hour labour and I did have discomfort, I think it was mainly because we were never able to get much practice with Evan's late work hours. But I'm really thankful for what I was able to get out of the… Continue

Shawn Audlin Shiny Happy Monsters?

Mindy and I have pretty different taste in music, but there is one rock group in particular that we both love, REM. I have listened to their music in very UP times in my life and also some down times...they seem to bridge the emotional spectrum. Well I found a song that they did that Me, Mindy, and Jenna can all enjoy! I hope you will too... Continue

Tammy L-C What if this program helps you heal?!

And more importantly, what if it is a success? You probably wonder what I'm talking about. Well, I was having coffee with a friend the other day. She asked me how many times I'd heard the saying, "We control our reality." "Over a thousand times," I told her (at least). She continued to share how bad things had gotten lately; life wasn't unfolding as she wanted it. Her relationship wasn't what she wanted and her pocketbook wasn't either. She had an idea of how to change all of it but fear was… Continue

Shawn Audlin How to Eat an Elephant

Mindy and I have a daughter named Jenna that is almost two now. She is at the stage where she continues to ask more and more questions. I love to see how she absorbs information and then tries to make sense of it all. I get a lot of "Daddy what's this song?", and she'll pick something up and ask "Daddy what's this for?" As I think back to when I was young one of the questions that confused and delighted me was, "How do you eat an elephant?" Do you remember the answer? "One bite at a time." Its a… Continue

Leigh Anne DuChene What If... TODAY IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!

I thought of this this morning as I was waking to my new day and new reality. I thought to myself, "What If today is the best day of my life? What If the greatest opportunity ever was opened up to me and I accepted it? What if today was life changing for me and those around me?" After thinking these thoughts, I quickly jotted them down, and decided, as long as these thoughts continue to be inspiring to me, then this his how I choose to start each and every day. With infinite positive possibili… Continue
